My grandmother can light up the room with her smile and warm your heart with her love. She is the mother of 6 children, 11 grandchildren and over a dozen great-grandchildren, all of whom she treats the same. She has no favorites, no comparing or complaining; just love. In fact, I’ve never heard her talk badly about anyone. She possesses a warm, calming spirit and knows just how to comfort me when I’m down. Some say I look just like her when she was my age. If this is true, when I hit 91, I’ll look like a movie star! Over the past few years I have joined her on her journey with Alzheimer’s. It has been a difficult road, going from her “first grandchild” to her “close friend who she loves so much”. My grandmother is my living legend because she has shown me the true meaning of giving without expectations and loving without boundaries. She has given me the gift of her heart and no matter what happens I know I’ll always be filled with her unconditional love.
