Eli and Carole Cohen

My folks are both Living Legends. My dad moved from Iraq to Israel at a young age. Feeling a strong connection to his new home, he became a paratrooper in the Israeli army, defending his country. After the army, he moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, where he taught at the university and made one of the best decisions of his life – he met and married my mother. With little more than the clothes on their backs, they moved to Nebraska where my father continued his education, earning four degrees, including a Ph.D. in Genetics followed by a Masters in Statistics. With his entrepreneurial spirit, and the support and common sense of his wife, my father and a partner started a company whose medical diagnostic analyzer now saves millions of lives worldwide. My siblings and I are constantly inspired by my folks’ love of family and of life – they taught us that each and every moment is precious (they also taught us to have a sense of humor, as you can tell from the photo). We must live and love and enjoy life as we zoom through our brief adventure. They are true Living Legends.
